Recovery of consignment of weapons dropped by drone in Gurdaspur

BY A STAFF REPORTER:    On the intervening foggy night of 17th / 18th Jan' 2023, a BSF party deployed on the outskirts of Village - Uncha Takala in District - Gurdaspur, heard humming sound of a suspected drone coming from Pakistan side. In a prompt action, BSF party fired towards the direction of sound of suspected drone. During firing, the party also heard the sound of something dropped in the nearby area.





2. Further, during initial search of the area, a packet with wooden base frame was found lying in the farming field on the outskirts of village - Uncha Takala, Distt - Gurdaspur.

3. On opening this packet, 04 Pistols (made in China), 08 Magazines and 47 Rounds were recovered.

4. Detail search of the area is in progress.

5. Vigilant BSF troops, once again were able to foil nefarious design of smugglers to smuggle contrabands through drone.
