Racer K E Kumar passed away during race in Chennai

India's renowned racer K E Kumar passed away on Sunday after he met with an accident in the second round of the Indian National Car Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai. He was 59 years old. The incident took place soon after Kumar's car came in contact with a contestant during the race. 

The race was then closed. Within minutes, Kumar was pulled out of the debris and shifted to a nearby hospital after a preliminary examination at the medical centre on the track. But all efforts goes in vain.
