Know the history of Kapileswari Kali

By A Staff Reporter : According to Hindu scriptures, Kapil Muni was a victim of his elder brother Vasudeva's plot.After being expelled, he established an ashram in the coastal Sundarbans.Gangasagar Mela is being organized around the ashram every year.Kapil Muni's Ashram is located on the banks of Kaptaksha river.

On Makar Sankranti, devotees perform puja at Kapil Muni's Ashram along with holy bath in Gangasagar.After becoming a monk, Kapil Muni established a Maa Kali idol. That Kali idol is called Kapileswari Kali.
