81 crore people to get free foodgrains for one year

BY A STAFF REPORTER: 81.35 crore Indians will get free ration for another year, the Centre said in a big announcement. From January 2023, free ration will be given to the beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act throughout the year. Earlier, under the National Food Security Act, consumers had to pay a small amount to buy grains. The price of rice was rs 3 per kg. The price of wheat was rs 2 per kg. Consumers had to pay a small price for other food grains. Now those customers will not have to pay any more money. The Centre will provide these foodgrains completely free of cost for the next one year. For this, the government will spend about Rs 2 lakh crore. The centre will bear the entire cost. This is what Union Minister Piyush Goyal said.
