Argentina qualified for the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 by defeating the Netherlands 4-3 at the Lusail Stadium on Saturday. The match is being considered as one of the most controversial matches in the history of the football World Cup.
Referee showed 16 yellow cards and one red card. Nine members of the Argentine camp, including captain Lionel Messi and manager Lionel Scaloni were shown yellow cards. Two of the players who were shown yellow cards already had yellow cards next to their names. Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuna both will miss the semi-final against Croatia.
