Congress meeting in Himachal this afternoon after victory, who will be the Chief Minister?

By A Staff Reporter : In Himachal, Congress has won the battle against BJP.According to party sources, a meeting of the newly elected MLAs has been called on Friday after the victory was announced on Thursday.The meeting will take a decision on the Chief Minister.Himachal Congress in-charge Rajeev Shukla, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and senior leader Bhupinder Hooda will attend the meeting in Shimla.The meeting is going to be held at Radisson Hotel Shimla at 3 pm.Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Pratibha Singh is the frontrunner in the race to become the chief minister.Pratibha Singh is a Lok Sabha MP from Mandi and former royal family member.She did not contest elections but effectively led the Congress campaign. She claimed the support of Congress MLAs who were loyal to her husband Birbhadra Singh, who led the party in Himachal Pradesh for more than three decades.

Her son Vikramaditya Singh said, "As a son, I want Pratibha ji to get a big responsibility. Besides being a son, I am also a responsible leader of the party. We will respect whatever the party decides. I am sure the party will take into account what the people want."Apart from her, there are three other contenders - former state chief Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Mukesh Agnihotri, leader of the Congress legislative party in the outgoing assembly, and Harshvardhan Chauhan.
