There are many soldiers, officers who have come to the Indian Army, whose stories of bravery still revolve in the face of the people. One such person was Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandrapuri. Brigadier Kuldeep Singh was the famous war hero of Longewala.













 He died on November 17, 2018. Serving as a Major, Kuldeep Singh led his troops to defend his Longewala post in Rajasthan against the onslaught of the Pakistani Army in the early stages of the Indo-Pak War of 1971. Longewala was manned by 120 soldiers of the Alpha Company of the 23rd Battalion of the Punjab Regiment led by Major Singh.
