BY A STAFF REPORTER: India's first privately-made rocket was launched on Friday. India's first individual rocket, Vikram-S, is named after Vikram Sarabhai. It was launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The rocket has been developed by 'Skyroot Aerospace'. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said, "With the start-up team 'Skyroot Aerospace' in Sriharikota, minutes before the launch of the first individual rocket, Vikram-S has been named after Vikram Sarabhai, the founder of India's space programme. ''
