The World Cup of Yoga is going to be held in India for the first time

​By A Staff Reporter: In collaboration with SVYASA Yoga University in Bangalore, India and the International Yoga Sports Federation in Lausanne, Switzerland (IYSF) is organizing on 2-4 December 2022 the 5th World Cup of Yogasana Sports for the first time in India, in the S-VYASA deemed to be University in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The previous editions of this event were organized in Los Angeles, United States (2003-2013), London, United Kingdom (2014), Pordenone, Italy (2016), Beijing, China (2018), and virtually due to Covid in 2021.This major event will gather yogasana athletes from all 6 continents: Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, United States, Canada, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia, Turkey, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, China, Japan and Australia. The competitors will be scored by senior international judges: Lynn Whitlow (USA, head judge), Tereza Bonnet-Senkova (Czech Republic), Cintra Brown (USA), Ann Leonard (Ireland), Umang Dawn (India), Trina Sondergaard (Denmark), Lydia Wright (Netherlands), Christian Scaraglino (Sweden), Erin Paulsen (USA), Li Xiang (China) and Rajashree Choudhury (USA, President of the IYSF). The Masters of Ceremony will be Adrian Alacron (Mexico). In this regard, IYSF founder and executive president Rajshree Chowdhury said, 'We are expecting a large number of visitors, politicians, dignitaries and Bollywood artists. Our mission is to promote world peace and unity through Yoga Asana as a sport.'
