HC directs registration of BJP supporter’s Kali Puja

By A Staff Reporter : Abhijit Sarkar, a BJP worker from Kakurdagachi, was the victim of post-poll violance in Kolkata.His brother Biswajit Sarkar's Kali Puja is going to be registered on the official portal. Bishwajit Sarkar's Kali Puja has been directed to be registered on the Assan portal of the state government. Justice Lapita Banerjee of the High Court has given the order. The court condemned the role of the police in this incident.

The court in its order said that in the court's view that this Court is of the view that frivolous objections have been raised without considering the order dated October 20, 2022 by the local police station .The Officer-in-Charge, local police station is directed to take immediate steps for the purpose of providing permission to the petitioners and for the purpose of issuing registration number so that puja can be held without any impediment. The authorities responsible for registration of the puja and for maintaining of ‘Aassan Portal’ are directed to give necessary assistance to the Officer-in-Charge of the local police station for registration of the said puja.
