BhaiPhonta has many names

By A Staff Reporter : BhaiPhonta is held two days after Kali Puja.It is a brother-sister event.Sisters put drops on their brother's foreheads to wish their brother well.We call this festival BhaiPhonta but this festival has many names in different places.

 For example, in western India this festival is called Vaidooj. In Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka, BhaiPhonta is called Vybiz. In Nepal and Darjeeling hill region of West Bengal this festival is known as Vaitika. In some parts of Nepal this festival is called Bhailgan or Vatilgan.
