BY A STAFF REPORTER: Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in five states of the country in view of the festival. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in several states of north India, including Delhi-NCR. An alert has been sounded in many parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on October 9.
IMD scientist R K Jenamani said, "Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some states for which an orange alert has been issued . The names of these states are Uttarakhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern UP, East Rajasthan and today's West MP and Gujarat. There is a possibility of heavy rains on October 8 and 9. "
