Baguihati murder: Police casual while investigating initial complaint, heads likely to roll

The police were extremely casual in their initial reaction after parents of Atanu Dey and Avishek Naskar went to the Baguihati police station to lodge a complain when the two teenagers did not return home on August 22. 


Admitting serious lapses, the state home department has recommended the removal of Bidhannagar police commissioner Supratim Sarkar and deputy commissioner of police, airport, supervising Baguihati police station J Mercy holding them primarily responsible



.  




The officer-in-charge of Baguihati police station has been suspended. According to sources in the state police directorate, there are complaints of lack of supervision against another senior IPS officer, deputy commissioner of police, New Town, Bishop Sarkar and there are chances that he might also be shifted out of the place.
