Kolkata based foundation lights the lives of hundreds

BY A STAFF REPORTER:
A free cataract eye surgical camp was organized on the 4th of September, 2022, from 8:30 am onwards at PREM MILAN Hospital, Kolkata in association with BIMLA DEVI AAROGYA FOUNDATION. All the pre-surgery to post-surgery requirements of 60 cataract patients will be met free of cost in this camp. The burden of blindness is steadily rising in India, and the ageing population is more prone to face issues like cataracts. The situation is more worrisome as eye patients do not receive proper care because of lack of awareness and high costs. Bimla Devi Aarogya Foundation is spearheading the charge to create a more accessible, equitable and affordable healthcare ecosystem in its mission to improve access to health and medical facilities. The camp was graced by eminent personalities like Mr. Prabhat Kasera, a notable industrialist and founder of the Bimla Devi Aarogya Foundation and Dr. Alok Prasad, renowned physician with over 30 years of practice at Howrah, West Bengal. In the camp, a primary check-up followed by an ECG, glucose test and other pre-operative procedures will be done. The surgery will be later done in Prem Milan Hospital as per further notice.  Post-Surgery, the patients will receive free surgical glasses, medicines, and food. A team of healthcare professionals led by Dr. Renu Singh and Dr. Subhra Ghosal will ensure that the patients receive good quality medical care.
