Kolkata: Badan Chandra Roy family, One of the best kept houses in old Kolkata. Their descendants still live here. The extensive ophthalmology department of the Medical College on College Street stands on the land donated by this family.
In front of the arched 'Thakur Dalan', where the 160-year-old puja is held, there is a beautiful quadrangle, which is marked by pillars topped by decorative lamps. Being a Vaishnava family, they do not have animal sacrifice. They used fruits instead of symbolic sacrifices.
