200 Ukrainian soldiers killed in Chaplyne railway station attack: Russia

BY A STAFF REPORTER: More than 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 10 equipment units destroyed in a Russian missile attack on a train station in Chaplyne in Ukraine's Dinipropetrovsk region, russia's defense ministry said. Ukrainian officials say at least 25 people, including two children, were killed in Wednesday's attack on the station, marking Ukraine's Independence Day and just six months after Russia invaded on February 24. 


Russia's Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday, "As a result of a direct hit by an Iskander missile at the military level at Chaplyne railway station in the Dinipropetrovsk region, 200 personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 10 units of military equipment were destroyed en route to Donbas".
