In a major diplomatic initiative, China took the battle over Taiwan and countered Western criticism through emphatic deliberations with women from various parts of the world. What is touted as the first in history, Chinese consul general in Kolkata, Zha Liyou, interacted with Kolkata International Women club at his residence where he delved with history to drive home the point of One China which includes Taiwan. Zha Liyou quoted research done by an American diplomat to push his argument. The Kolkata International Women club has ladies from US, Ukraine, Colombia, Nepal, Indonesia, who are currently in the city as members and attended the deliberation.
