China begins war drills around Taiwan, growing concerns

BY A STAFF REPORTER: China has started a war exercise around Taiwan. Large-scale military sea and air exercises have reportedly begun around the island. Beijing began the exercise as soon as U.S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit ended. Yesterday, 27 Chinese fighter jets entered Taiwan's skies. It is known that Chinese fighter jets entered Taiwan's air defense zone. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan on Tuesday night, defying China's warning.

Yesterday morning, she had a meeting with Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen. She then boarded a U.S. plane and left for his home country. Shortly after Pelosi's plane landed in Taiwan, four Chinese fighter jets entered Taiwanese airspace and circled. China is conducting dangerously military exercises around Taiwan in retaliation for Pelosi's visit.
