Disgraced TMC minister Partha Chatterjee is now on his own as party supremo Mamata Banerjee has dropped him like a hot potato. ``I am personally hurt. I could not believe that he could do such a thing,'' she said during a public programme.
The state chief minister however raised a flag wondering whether there was any ``foul play.'' She hastened to add that if proven guilty ``I don't mind if he is given life imprisonment.'' While the murmur of party distancing from the disgraced minister was in the air, it is the first time chief minister Mamata Banerjee has reacted to the arrest of virtual number two in the state cabinet.
