The once most backward district in the country is taking step towards self reliance and development. Chandel district bordering restive Myanmar in Manipur has slowly turned self reliant and on path of improving basic amenities in life and stepping into the national mainstream.
According to minister of state for external affairs and education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, government of India along with Manipur government is laying special emphasis on ensuring that aspirational district meet developmental targets.
``It is very crucial for Chandel to upgrade facilities and we are making all efforts to ensure widespread improvement in all aspects of life,'' Rajkumar Ranjan Singh told ANM News. The union minister is reviewing the developmental work with senior district officials on July 23 and 24 and will submit a progress report to the Prime Minister.
