FARMER MURDERED IN MALDA

By a Staff Reporter: A neighbor has been accused of murdering a person due to a dispute over due money. The sensational incident took place in Guni Para area of Alal village panchayat of Gajol police station in Malda district. The name of the deceased is Satya Basak age (40) years. The family consists of wife Manju Basak, three daughters and one son. Satya Basak was a farmer by profession. The accused are Umesh Chowdhury, Dulal Basak and several others.

According to the family and police sources, the person named Satya Basak had lent 2000 taka to Umesh Chowdhury two months ago. The accused called him from his house last night saying that he would return the money. After that he was allegedly beaten severely. From there, the victim somehow escaped to the house. Inform family members of all incidents. Injured, he was rescued at night and first taken to Ghazal Rural Hospital. From there, when the condition worsened, he was admitted to Malda Medical College Hospital. The person died this morning during treatment. The dead body was recovered and sent to Malda Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. The incident cast a shadow of grief on the village including the family of the deceased.
