Chief Secretary to hold emergency meeting today on Covid situation

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The health department has already announced that the fourth wave of Covid has started in the state. This time, chief secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi has called an emergency meeting on the corona situation in the state. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. District magistrates of all districts and chief health officers of each district have been directed to be present virtually. Nabanna sources said the meeting has been called to review the corona infection situation. The commissioner of police, superintendent of police has been asked to attend the meeting.      

        

Corona infections are on the rise in the state. The daily infections crossed 3,000 for two days in a row. North 24 Parganas, Kolkata have more infections. There is growing concern about Covid. In the meantime, the Chief Secretary is holding meetings with the districts on the Covid situation on an urgent basis.
