Telangana refuses to be part of the Centre’s SC program

Ananya Saha :  Telangana has become the only state that refuses to be part of the main program, the Post Matric Scholarship for SCs, as the Institute ends. The process of disbursing Rs 3,500 crore to beneficiary students in 2021-22.

 
The southern region controlled by TRS has refused to participate in the revised PMS despite repeated reminders as we found the revised 2021 guidelines unacceptable. Under these new procedures, the Union for Social Justice returns the bursary directly to the student's bank account.
