Star 27-year-old to keep berth in India's predicted XI for the first T20I against England?

BY A STAFF REPORTER:  With an eye toward the T20 World Cup later this year, quite a few players will try to secure a berth in the team.

India will concentrate on the short overs series against England now that the crucial Edgbaston Test match is in the past. They'll want to recover quickly from the setback of the defeat in Birmingham and seek atonement in the T20I and ODI series.

India will select the same team that travelled to Ireland for the two-match series in June for the start of the T20I series, which will begin on July 7 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Rohit Sharma, who has since recovered from his case of Covid-19, will head the side against a formidable England white-ball squad that includes batsmen like Jos Buttler (who took over as captain after Eoin Morgan retired), Jason Roy, and Liam Livingstone, all of whom are quite potent.

The players who took part in the Edgbaston Test will miss this game but will be available for the ODI series, the second and third T20Is, and the second and third T20Is.
