What Is Bahurayatra?

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Exactly 7 days after the Puri Rath Yatra, Gundicha set out from the temple for the purpose of his Dham Puri temple. The 'Bengalis' called it ''Ultorath''. But in Puri there is no such thing as "Ultorath" in the real sense. In Orissa this day is called "Bahuryatra". In fact, Gundicha Devi was the wife of King Indradyumna. He was the one, who broke the work of Bishwakarma during the construction of Jagannath temple behind closed doors. So these days Jagannath Dev went to the temple named after Rani Gundichar to change the air. When that day was over, he left for the temple.

On the way his chariot stopped near his aunt's house. Stop by this temple to eat Jagannath's favorite food, ''Porapitha''. He is like a living deity in the temple of Puri. To the devotee, he seems to exist as a human being, so he gets up in the morning and eats only after biting his teeth like a human being. Jagannath Dev is a foodie, so he is ready to enjoy 57 every day. He then set out for the king's house.
