By A Staff Reporter : Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 41st convocation of the Institute of Rural Management in Gujarat on Sunday.Speaking on the occasion, he said, "Rural development is essential for the independence of the country, which started in 2014 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power."
Amit Shah quotes Mahatma Gandhi as saying that 'the soul of the country lives in the village.' In his words, "Gandhiji said the soul of the country lives in the village. Thus, if you want to make this country complete and independent, you have to do it for the village. It started when Prime Minister Modi came to power in 2014." The Union Home Minister further said, "The aspect of rural development is to make the villages convenient. This requires remote connection of the villages. The villages did not have electricity, we provided it."
