​BY A STAFF REPORTER: 37 people were killed in a massive explosion at the BM container depot in Sitakunda in Chittagong on Saturday night. Five fire service personnel were also among the dead. More than 400 people were also burned and injured. A list of 37 people killed by the Red Crescent on Sunday morning was published on the notice board of The Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed grief over the massive fire at the BM container depot.



He urged the party workers to come forward with all possible help from the victims. According to reports, a major fire broke out at the BM container depot in Sitakunda in Bangladesh on Saturday night. At least 37 people were burnt to death by the fire and subsequent explosions overnight. Among them are five firefighters. The death toll may rise further. More than 400 people were injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The fire is burning at the container depot from Saturday night till Sunday afternoon. The sound of an explosion came from inside. Firefighters are struggling to put out the fire.
