RESCUE OPERATION AT PEER KI GALI

Poonch District On 27 May 2022, around 2300hrs, on receipt of information of stranded tourists & travelers on Mughal road due to landslide, a rescue operation was launched by Indian Army in general area Peer Ki Gali. Landslide had resulted in trapping of six vehicles in a no network zone, in an area prone to shooting stones. Immediately, a Rescue Team was launched with one officer and 13 soldiers of Indian Army and a strength of five personnel of J&K Police from Poshana Military Post. On reaching the site of landslide, four trucks and two light vehicles were found trapped with passengers scared for their lives. After reassuring them, the Rescue Team immediately began clearing the road while ensuring safety of the public. 10 civilians, including a female and a child were rescued and brought to army post at Poshana, where they were served refreshments with heating arrangements. The effort was appreciated by the locals and has further enhanced the nation building image of Indian Army.
