The race for a new United Conservative Party leader is gearing up after Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced he’s stepping down.
In his short address, Kenney said he advised party president Cynthia Moore of his intention to step down and asked that the party schedule a leadership election as soon as possible.

Supporters who attended the event in Calgary mostly expressed shock at the turn of events.
