The role of translators in the development of culture and literature



Nayagarh (3/5):The translation is like a two-edged sword. So translators have to be very careful while translating. To be a good translation, the translator must be proficient in the original language as well as in the source language. Dinesh Mali, a nationally renowned translator, said the role of translators was crucial in spreading culture and literature. An online conference of translators based on the theme "Feelings of Transformation" was organized online by Indian Translation Literature in association with eminent translator Radhu Mishra. Sarat Chandra Acharya, the host of Indian Translation Literature, welcomed everyone and informed them about the publication of an introductory booklet by translators on behalf of the institution and the organization of a national translation conference in Bhubaneswar on September 30 on World Translation Day. The second phase of the program, co-organized by Mita Pattnaik and Sanghamitra Raiguru, included Manjusharma Mohapatra, a renowned Hindi and Odia translator, Dr. Anjuman Ara, Professor, Department of Hindi, Ravenshaw University and Shraddhanjali Kanungo (Sahitya Akademi Award-winning translator), Swapna Behera, Dr. Sangeeta Rath, Sarita Nayak, Chandrama Mohapatra. On this occasion, a multilingual translated poem was recited.
