Home minister Amit Shah on mission BSF in Bengal

Shri Amit Shah, Home Minister, Government of India will be visiting South Bengal Frontier, BSF on May 05, 2022. During this visit, Shri Amit Shah, after reaching BOP Hingalganj, will inaugurate BSF's 06 modern floating BOPs Sutlej, Narmada, Kaveri, Ganga, Sabarmati, Krishna and Boat Ambulance stationed in the Sunderban waters. After inaugurating the floating BOP, Shri Shah will also inaugurate the Maitri Sangrahalaya (Museum) located at BOP Hardaspur.

 BSF has an important responsibility of monitoring and protecting the International Border of Bangladesh and Pakistan and the Government is emphasizing to equip the force with modern equipments. The Ministry of Home Affairs is also emphasizing that all the BOPs on our borders with Bangladesh and Pakistan, should be strengthened by providing modern equipment for surveillance and border security. The number of floating BOPs has been increased to strengthen Border Security Force and enhance the surveillance in the inaccessible areas of Sunderbans of West Bengal. Apart from this, Boat Ambulance is also being commenced to provide medical assistance in this inaccessible area of ​​Sundarbans from Saheb Khali to Shamsher Nagar. The Maitri Sangrahalaya (Museum) has been established to make the general public aware of the valor of BSF in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War of Liberation.



  During the visit of Shri Amit Shah, Home Minister, Government of India, Director General of Border Security Force Shri Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, Shri Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, IPS, Additional Director General, Eastern Command and Dr. Atul Fuljhele, IPS, Inspector General South Bengal Frontier will be present.
