Government shifts Ranaghat SP following Hanskhali incident

The state government has axed the Ranaghat police superintendent Sayak Das, faulting his supervision for the Hanskhali incident, shifting him as Special Superintendent of CID. Das has been replaced by Diamond Harbour superintendent of police, Avijit Banerjee. In a series of police transfers, Amitabha Maiti has also been transferred from Malda and has been replaced by Pradeep Yadav. Bankura police superintendent Dhritiman Sarkar replaced Avijit Banerjee in Diamond Harbour. The government also transferred Rajesh Yadav from IGP, STF to Addl CP in Kolkata Police.
