Indian students advised not to take admission in Pakistani institutions, say UGC and AICTE

By a Staff Reporter: The University Grants Commission and The All India Council for Technical Education in a joint notice have requested Indian students not to travel to Pakistan for higher studies. The agencies have warned that no Indian national or foreign national, who wants to take admission in Pakistan for higher studies, will be eligible for jobs or higher education in India. "Everyone is advised not to travel to Pakistan for higher education. Any Indian citizen/Indian foreign national who wishes to take admission in any degree college/educational institution in Pakistan shall not be eligible for employment or higher education in India on the basis of such educational qualification acquired in Pakistan," the statement said. However, organisations have relaxed rules for migrants and their children. The statement said those who have obtained a higher education degree in Pakistan and have been granted citizenship by India will be eligible for jobs in India after obtaining security clearance.
