NCB Seized large number of psychotropic substances in 3 days operation

On receipt of a complaint regarding retail sale of psychotropic and narcotic medicines to local addicts by a person named MinagurRahaman, the owner of premise T. S Agency,(which is being used as godown/storage of the shop) Kolkata, the said godown premises following narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were recovered in form of tablets and injection ampoules:

Seized Drugs



*1.Phensewell Cough Syrup(Codeine phosphate)- 90 Bottles(100 ml each)

2.Pyeevon Spas Plus (Tramadol HCL)- 2640 capsule

3.Diazepam Injection I.P-300 ampoules

4.Diazepam Injection I.P (LORI) -125 ampoules

5.Diazepam Injection I.P- 100 ampoules

6.Pentazocine lactate Injection I.P. (Zocipen 1 ml)- 250 ampoules

7.Pentazocine lactate Injection I.P. -50 ampoules

8.Alprazolam Tablets I.P (Slepraz 0.5)- 3480 tablets

9.Buprenorphine Injection I.P (Vulcan)- 2000 ampoules

Modus Operandi



Minagur Rahaman ( retailer) used to purchase Drugs illegally from Pintu ( middle man) . This was done without necessary permission for further retail to local addicts, who frequently visited his store.



Pintu disclosed his supplier name Tapas Roy an employee of the JK Pharma (Whole seller)* of NRx drugs in Burrabazar Kolkata .

Tapas roy used to purchase from JK Pharma ie Mahesh Parikh (*owner)*



During scrutiny of JK Pharma NRX Drug Stock Mahesh Parekh the owner of JK Pharma was unable to provide the sale and purchase records n further he disclosed that he and his worker tapas Roy had sold the Seized drug to Pintu in cash without any Bill/invoices.

Usage

Buprenorhphine is used to treat addiction/dependence to opioids whereas diazepam is used to relieve anxiety and to control agitation pentazocine is used to relieve moderate pain to severe pain.all Seized drugs are injected seperately and sometimes in combination with other drugs for addiction.
