More than 2.5 million refugees have entered Poland from Ukraine

By a Staff Reporter: More than 2.5 million refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine have crossed the border into Poland, the Polish border guard said on Thursday. It is unclear how many of the 2.5 million refugees are still in Poland, but a spokesman for the interior ministry said on Thursday that 700,000 Ukrainians had been registered with a Polish database that allows refugees to either accept employment or continue their education. According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 4.3 million people have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion began on February 24. In addition, more than 7.1 million people in Ukraine have been internally displaced, forced to flee their homes.
