PM's strong message to ensure country's security at BIMSTEC Summit

BY A STAFF REPORTER:
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the 5th BIMSTEC Summit in Colombo. He said that, 'We are working on extending and expanding the scope of the BIMSTEC scholarship program offered by the Nalanda International University. We are also signing a treaty on mutual legal assiatance on criminal matters. The time has come to make the Bay of Bengal the bridge of connectivity, prosperity and security. I call on all BIMSTEC nations to dedicate themselves to working with new enthusiasm to achieve the goals we achieved together in 1997. Emphasis should be placed on increasing connectivity in different areas. The emphasis should be on disaster management. We also need to ensure the security of the country. Terrorism has to be stopped.'
