Police has been asked to conduct raids, arrest criminals and history sheeters, seize illegal arms and ammunations and bombs without bothering about party affiliations. In a clear unambiguous directive, the state director general of police, Manoj Malviya made it imperative for the police officers to keep the criminals on the run. The DGP was addressing all SPs, range DIGs, IGPs and ADGPs of the state over video conference. ``I will give you protection against any political interference. You need to concentrate on your work,'' Malviya reportedly told the police officers. The DGP's sermon came after chief minister Mamata Banerjee had publicly urged him to ensure that police officers flush out criminals, illegal arms, ammunations and bombs in the aftermath of Birbhum mass carnage
