Chernihiv's population reduced by more than half after Russian aggression: Mayor

By a Staff Reporter:  The mayor of the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv said the population had more than halved since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko said on Saturday that "between 120,000 and 130,000 residents are living in the city compared to around 290,000 before the Russian invasion." Atroshenko said, "Russian forces destroyed the only bridge connecting Kiev with a highway south of Chernihiv." '
