CBI zeroes in on primary suspects, politicians, police including IPS officer under scanner

BY A STAFF REPORTER: CBI has zeroed in on primary suspects and conspirators in the Birbhum mass murder case. The federal investigative agency which took up investigations on direction of the court has sought call detail records of several persons including senior police officers, political leaders, local villagers. The CBI officers held a series of meetings with senior police officers and collected case diary, and other important documents. They are also getting the tower dump in an effort to pinpoint exact locations of the accused persons. According to agency insiders, three policemen including an IPS officer and five important political personalities are under the scanner. The joint director north east, Ghanashyam Upadhaya who supervises the special crime branch will be taking stock of the probe.
