International Women's Day Celebrated by The Heritage Academy, Kolkata.

Kolkata : On 7th March 2022, Department of Media Science, The Heritage Academy organized a talk on 'Break the Bias' to celebrate International Women's Day. The talk was addressed by Dr. Indrani Lodh, Consultant Gynecologist, Director URVARAA, IVF and Mr. Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, a well known interdisciplinary artist. Break the bias denotes a world of gender equality, free from gender bias to avoid discrimination getting free access to all the resources and creating a world giving importance to all the genders.
On this theme, the speakers opined on various issues and addressed the common problems today's women face in the world. Dr. Lodh gave examples where still in India women are exploited and this exploitation is very much prevalent in North India. "Unless we get rid of these evil thoughts, we cannot bring forth a society free from Gender biasness," said Dr. Lodh during the event. Mr. Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee stressed on the fact that more importance should be given on work of an individual instead of gender.
The event also witnessed the presence of Prof. Gour Banerjee, Principal, The Heritage Academy, Dr. Madhupa Bakshi, Dean, Department of Media Science, The Heritage Academy, Dr. Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology and other faculty and staff members.
  'A deliberate or unconscious bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing the fact bias exists isn’t enough, we need to take an action to remove the bias for the progress of the society," said Shri P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Kolkata.
