Industries by the dozens are shifting their registered offices out of Bengal, according to a report prepared by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The report also indicated that State government has never used their right to object to the shifting of the registered offices of the industries despite the issue flagged several times with the two previous chief secretaries. The MCA preliminary report indicated that industries like Eureka Forbes, Tata Tea which is now known as Tata Global Beverages have all shifted their registered offices out of the state. The state chief secretary can raise an objection to the shifting of registered offices. MCA document mentioned that two previous chief secretaries Rajeeva Sinha and Alapan Bandopadhayay were informed by Registrar of Companies, Kolkata about the move by companies to shift their registered offices but none of them raised any objection.
