Inter-college Debate Competition organized by Heritage Law College, Kolkata

Kolkata (28/2) : For the first time in post Covid period, on 28th February, 2022, Heritage Law College,Kolkata organised an inter college debate where the motion was "THIS HOUSE BELIEVES THAT UNIFORM CIVIL CODE IS A DISTANT DREAM IN INDIA". Undergraduate students from several esteemed colleges across Kolkata such as Department of Law,Calcutta University, Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College, South Calcutta Law College, Sister Nivedita University, University of Engineering and Management as well as Heritage Law College had participated in this competition. Shri Satya Sundar Sarangi, Advocate of Calcutta High Court, Member of Supreme Court Association and Indian Council of Arbitration with Legal Aid Services, West Bengal presided as the judge of the competition. Prof. S. S. Chatterji, Dean Heritage Law College spoke on such topics like the context, historical episodes and probability of the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code. The students' team of Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College emerged as the winner and Adrita Chaudhury from the winning team became the Best Speaker. Heritage Law College became the runner's up.​
