Tocilizumab injection scam: Dr Nirmal Maji bares all to ANM News

He is innocent and is ready to face any consequences if proven guilty, thundered TMC legislator and former minister Dr Nirmal Maji. Currently in the eye of the storm after it came to light that 26 Tocilizumab injections worth Rs 11 lakhs are missing from Calcutta Medical College. Dr Maji claimed that he was busy with his election campaign when the incident happened. ``I launched a sustained campaign to weed out corruption in hospitals and medical colleges. It is a conspiracy to defame me,'' he said. According to reports the injections were procured by Dr Debangshi Saha, a physician attached to the state hospital. Incidentally, Dr Debangshi Saha is the daughter of influential TMC leader of Kalighat area, Pratap Saha, who was accused of leading an attack on a local police station in Kolkata. Dr Maji claimed that he had nothing to do with Dr Saha and all allegations of his proximity with her is ``false and concocted.''
