Supreme Court grants anticipatory bail to Trinamool Congress leader SK Supiyan, who was the election agent of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram. BJP worker Debabrata Maiti was allegedly beaten to death after the assembly polls. Sheikh Sufyan's name came up several times in the investigation. The attack on a BJP worker took place in Nandigram on May 3, 2021. He died in Kolkata on May 13.
