By a Staff Reporter: Russian authorities said a record number of infections were reported in Russia on Wednesday. The reason behind this, however, is the new rapidly infectious variant of Covid-19, Omikron. The number of Covid-19 cases in Russia on Wednesday was 74,692. The number of victims yesterday was 67,809. According to the government's coronavirus task force, the death toll in the last 24 hours is 657.
