Lt Gen RP Kalita to take over as army commander of Eastern Command

Lt Gen RP Kalita is all set to take over as the General Officer Commanding in Chief Eastern Command. Gen Kalita was earlier posted as chief of staff Eastern Command recently and subsequently transferred as DG, MP and PS. He was commissioned in 9 Kumaon in 1984 and will be taking over from Lt Gen Manoj Pande who has been appointed as Vice Chief of Staff.
