THE BANGLADESHI MINOR GIRL PUSHED INTO PROSTITUTION, BSF HANDED OVER TO BGB AS HUMANITARIAN ACT

In the border area of ​​North 24 Parganas district, BSF troops under the South Bengal Frontier, apprehended mother and daughter who were trying to cross the International Border illegally. The mother and daughter hailing from Bangladesh were identified as Samira (fictitious name), age 45, and Alima(fictitious name), age 17 years.



On 22, June 2021, Tuesday afternoon, the Intelligence Branch of BSF received information regarding illegal crossing of the border by some people from the area of ​​​Border Out Post, ​Jeetpur of 99 Battalion BSF. On the basis of which, all the troops of Border Out Post, Jeetpur was alerted by Company Commander troops accordingly. At about 1315 hrs, the troops noticed some suspicious movement of 02-03 persons in jute field. Troops were cordoned the jute field, during searching of the area apprehnded two women from the spot and brought them to Border Out Post Jeetpur for further investigation.





  During preliminary questioning, Alima (fictitious name) told that her parents had fixed her marriage against her will. Meanwhile, two people from her village, Kalu and Suhag, promised her a good job in a Beauty Parlour in India. She ran away from her house to avoid marriage and came to India with Kalu where Kalu sold her to an Indian tout namely Mohammed Ali to Rs 1.5 lakhs. From there, he brought her to Panjipara (Uttar Dinajpur) and started forcing her to do prostitution work. She further revealed that a boy named Mithun who heard her sad story and told the whole story to her mother through mobile phone in Bangladesh.



When the mother came to know about the situation of the daughter, the mother decided to bring her back at any cost. The mother of Alima told that her daughter was missing since January 16, 2021 and a FIR was lodged in Pallavi Mirpur Police Station, near Dkaka. A few days ago a call came from a boy named Mithun from India who told that her daughter is in Panjipara, India. After this call, she immediately decided to go to India and bring back her daughter at any cost. In this connection, she came to India illegally and went to Panjipada, where she rescued her daughter from the clutches of touts with the help of the village Headman. Today both the mother and daughter were going back to Bangladesh, where the Border Security Force apprehended them.

 

 In view of the seriousness of the crime against the victim, BSF handed over them to Border Guard Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds. Shri Ravi Kant, Commanding Officer of 99 Battalion BSF stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict steps to prevent infiltration and human trafficking along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Consequently, the criminals involved in such crimes are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are being caught and punished according to the law. Due to the mutual goodwill of the Border Guard Forces of both friendly countries, few cases are handed to the Border Guard Bangladesh. The Border Guard Bangladesh and Border Security Force are taking strict legal action against human traffickers.
