Made-in-Canada tech poised to make airline travel safer with enhanced aircraft tracking

By Chandrayee Roy Choudhury, Canada: Kelowna-based SKYTRAC improves air navigation systems to eliminate the mystery of missing planes.

SKYTRAC had already developed technology that could provide robust real-time tracking of passenger aircraft in distress from the North Pole to the Antarctic.

Building on its exclusive technology, the SKYTRAC team partnered with sister company ACR Electronics to ensure aircraft would continue to transmit its location, even if all power was lost.

Here’s what would happen on an aircraft in distress equipped with the technology.

SKYTRAC’s ADT-5000TM unit processes data, including altitude, speed, attitude and critical systems information, through SKYTRAC’s exclusive ADT Logician TM software.

The world is paying attention. Embraer, the world’s third-largest commercial aircraft manufacturer and supplier to the Porter airlines fleet, recently signed an agreement with SKYTRAC.
