Priyanka turns Lohardaga into a Maoist free zone

Have the cops got an upper hand against the Maoists ? The once dreaded Maoists corridor of Purulia, Bankura, Dhanbad, Lohardaga have slowly turned into a peace zone after relentless campaign by the joint team of CRPF, Bengal and Jharkhand police. ANM News spoke to several police officers and found out that Maoists are on the run. Speaking exclusively to ANM News over phone, SP, Lohardaga, Priyanka Meena attributed the success to a combination of ground operation and community outreach among the villagers. Lohardaga, which was once a hotbed of Maoists has now turned into a relatively incident free zone over the last few years. ``We have been successful in creating a void among the Maoist top leadership and pushed them into escaping outside our district,'' she said. Meena is credited to have unleashed a massive community outreach in remote villages and carried out ground operations.
