TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO’S MONITORING OF COVID-19 PATIENTS IN QUARANTINE BECOMING A CHALLENGE

By a Staff Reporter: Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Roshan Parasram has admitted that monitoring covid-19 patients in home self isolation has become a challenge.

With over 14,000 patients in home self isolation, Dr Parasram said this is an issue being looked at as this is the highest number they have seen since the start of the pandemic. He added that with only four or five persons charged with making these calls, the Ministry of Health is looking into hiring more persons to assist with the backlog.

He also asked for the public’s assistance. This at Wednesday’s covid-19 update.

Dr Parasram then stated that with asymptomatic spread being picked up in persons getting tested for different reasons such as travel, those with severe symptoms are being fast tracked.
